Monitoring Software Raid on XenServer
1. Sync disks
mdadm --detail /dev/md0
2. activate monitoring and create config filemdadm --verbose --detail --scan >> /etc/mdadm.conf3. Setup mail connection /etc/ssmtp/ssmtp.conf

mailhub=smtp.gmail.com:587
Hostname=your_hostname.yourdomain.sth
UseTLS=YES
TLS_CA_File=/etc/pki/tls/certs/ca-bundle.crt

4. Append mail address in /etc/mdadm.conf
... MAILADDRÂ destination_mail@provider.sth MAILFROM your_mail@gmail.com
5. Test mail monitoring
mdadm --monitor --scan --test --oneshot
